Sorry to add to the questions.
Does anyone have any good documentation on adding Nessus to Netreg.
We used the UConn pluggin and that work group last year.

        Thanks

Subject: NetReg: load during back to school

Hello everyone,

We're going to deploy NetReg for our ResNet community before everyone comes
back to school in August. Some folks here at Emory have expressed concerns
over how much load one NetReg server can handle during the first few days
that everyone comes back to school. The ResNet community will contain
around 5000 computers, and we are planning on scanning them with 2 to 5
plugins with Nessus as part of the registration process.

Our deployment will consist of two NetReg boxes (Pentium 3.2 GHz with 1GB
Ram) with one actively doing registration and one sitting in hot standby.
If one box fails then we'll manually bring the other up. I'm planning on
load balancing a few Nessus boxes to distribute the scanning load.

So my questions are:

1. Has anyone implemented NetReg with automatic failover or load balancing?

2. What have been your experiences with the NetReg box handling the load
during the few busy days of back to school?

thanks,
Alan
