Question #2:
We'd need a bit more information. You could post your named.conf file.
You can also check that the process is still running. (use the ps -elf
command to see all running processes) If the process is failing, you can
check the /var/log/messages file to what output if any it's giving on why it
died. If that doesn't help you, post the error message (If any) and
anything else you might think relevant.
Question #1
I always did that so that I knew where all the config files where, and
how it was configured. but that is me

Subject: NetReg: Apache and DNS
Hello all,
I have a two questions, one regarding Apache, the other DNS.
1. Why should we not use the RPM version of Apache (with SSL) which is
released with Red Hat? I do not see anything in the instructions which would
cause a problem with the RPM package. But then again, I'm a novice so what
do I know.
2. DNS is not responding to queries. Has anyone else had this problem and
resolved it?
Thanks for your help
