NetReg: Apache and DNS

Hello all,
 
I have a two questions, one regarding Apache, the other DNS.
 
1. Why should we not use the RPM version of Apache (with SSL) which is released with Red Hat? I do not see anything in the instructions which would cause a problem with the RPM package. But then again, I'm a novice so what do I know.
 
2. DNS is not responding to queries. Has anyone else had this problem and resolved it?
