NetReg itself is not tied to any platform...perl will run on windows as
will the apache http server. ISC's DHCP server however isn't offered as
binaries (unix or windows) so you would need a compiler on windows. You
need to find out (probably from the ISC mailing lists) if/how the server
compiles under windows.

If you can get that to work, Im confident you can get all the other
pieces to work. You should be able to get windows' native DNS
implementation to do what BIND needs to do...everything else I believe
has been ported already.

I would urge you to fight the mandate to have this run on windows...you
can tell them that it will be a big hack of a hack to even get the thing
installed. Plus you will be the first to implement it in this way so
you will have zero support on any issues you encounter for implementation.

NetReg will run on old hardware...we ran off a Pentium 90MHz initially
untill we found a blazing P-133 to replace it...the 133 is way overkill
:) So if you can find an old box maybe you can throw a copy of linux on
there and get it all set up and show them how nicely it installs. This
would probably be a good idea anyway so you have a working model to
refer to during your porting.

goodluck! let us know how it goes!
