I plan on using netreg for our dorm students this fall. I needed netreg
to authenticate to an external command procedure on our administrative
system. This command procedure has been made available as a cgi script to
process student logins for EZProxy.
So, I created the enclosed patch to authenticate against an external
script (through an http POST operation on a webserver). This should work
with any generic back end authentication script that can be connected to
via an http POST operation (as would be done with an html form) and which
gereates a predicatble response for a valid authentication.
Please add this patch to the netreg/contrib section. Let me know if this
is useful to anybody.
