Never seen it, but [never] will. This comes close to the top of the
list for worst ideas I've seen this year!!! You have my sympathy.
If you used the CIDR kit and turned on DNS updates, you would have
really had fun, huh? Since I intend for user IDs to be used in
hostnames, I make sure the lexical syntax follows the requirements
for Internet hostnames. That said, it would probably be wise to
strip out all kinds of characters that could be part of user IDs,
since managers don't read RFCs.
