Hi Bruce,
I suspect your problem has something to do with the allowable subnets that
you configured in NetReg's variables.pl & subnet.dat.
If you are using NetReg 1.3rc2:
-------------------------------
* You will need to edit /usr/local/apache/cgi-bin/variables.pl so the line
"$ALLOW_DOMAIN=" says
$ALLOW_DOMAIN="144.175.*"
* You will also need to edit /usr/local/apache/cgi-bin/subnet.dat so it
looks like:
20:Network Description:255
Note: I am assuming that you are using a Class B subnet with a Class C
subnet mask.
If you are using NetReg 1.3rc2 with the netreg-cidr update:
-----------------------------------------------------------
You only need to edit /etc/netreg/subnet.dat. Edit subnet.dat in /etc/netreg
so it reflects all the subnets on your network that utilize DHCP. The format
of subnet.dat is:
1. Subnet/mask length for registered clients
2. Description of Subnet
3: Total number of leases from the subnet for registered clients
4: Subnet/mask length for unregistered clients if different
For example: 144.175.20.0/24:Network Description:200::
If you are not using the netreg-cidr update, I recommend that you install
the update. It's much more flexible in handling subnets. You can find it at
www.netreg.org/contrib

Subject: NetReg: Problem when Registering
NETREG Group:
I had submitted a question a few days ago regarding this but had multiple
problems so I decided to do a clean install.
My DNS is directing the user to the registration page but when they enter
their username and password which authenicates against my email server they
get the error Permission Denied this ip is not in my allowable range. In my
httpd I have allow from 144.175.20 127.0.0.1. The ip that dhcp gives it
initally in 14.175.20.54.
I can provide the config files if needed.
