NetReg: Perl Script for retrieving user information

Hi:

Does anyone have a perl script that will retrieve a users' computer name,
MAC address, and operating system version? I give up on trying to get
netreg to work on Linux, as I am ignorant and only am comfortable using
NT/2000 server ;). I am going to do a lockdown in the core switch here at
the college for authorization and would like an easy way for the students to
click a page and then have it make a list for me to use. Thanks everyone.
