I've done some more testing. It looks like the script is only looking for
the last occurrence in the dhcpd.conf.new file, and then adding one to it,
assuming it is the highest number.
I also can see how this will only occur if you are in my situation. If I
had started from scratch, (No registrations) they all would have been
created in order, and the issue would not come up. (Numbers would jump, but
never get smaller)
Thankfully I will be clearing my registrations out as part of normal
maintenance, so I don't have to sort the dhcpd.conf file.
I'm still looking for suggestions on my other problem.

Ok, I've upgraded to 1.3
I made the little changes to it, (Removed links to Southwestern's Directory,
made the MAC address search case insensitive)
and now I'm trying to get the subnet overview to work.
Since I'm using one range for registered address, and another range for
un-registered address, I know it will not work 100% as desired.
I'm operating under the previous assumption I had under 1.2 In order to see
how many registrations I have, I would have to list my unregistered ranges
in my subnet.dat field.
The ranges I created for my unregistered range are smaller than full class
C's. I'm using 255.255.255.192 for a subnet mask.
I also have one range for wireless clients that is a full class C.
Is there a way I could modify the code to display the smaller subnet mask?
Second Issue:
Also, I haven't cleaned out my registrations from last year. Which means I
have a large conf file. I was using a contribution that was published
awhile ago to allow more than one registration per Username. As a result of
that code and multiple deletions throughout the year I have the
username-serial in a pretty random order.
I.e. Telecomm-1
Telecomm-3
telecomm-11
telecomm-13
telecomm-14
telecomm-15
telecomm-4
telecomm-12
Using the new interface, I deleted a client. (it was one of my test
machines) It had a number appended using the old register script.
I added it back by reregistering. The new register script added it to the
above list with telecomm-13.
Besides going back to my previous script, any idea's on how to correct this?

You need to upgrade to the latest 1.3. It has changes that allow for
subnets other than 255.0.

Wow, Three messages to this list in one day. Haven't seen this kind of
traffic in awhile.
A few weeks ago I asked if it was possible to use a range in more than one
shared-network. I actually answered myself and started using Subnet masks
to use part of a single range in each building for unregistered addresses.
I'm using NetReg 1.2
Did someone find a way to allow the use of different subnet masks? I
thought I saw something last year, but I could not find anything in the
archives.
