Well, I just checked the 1.3rc2 and it doesn't use the hardcoded "161" . It seems really strange that the subnet overview and find mac / username work but not find lease. I haven't had time to go thru the admin.cgi script line by line yet, but it looks like that is what I am going to have to do. I know just enough perl to be dangerous, so wish me luck :)

I didn't even look at the subnet, Doh! Makes a lot more sense now.

I know what you have to fix, cause I had to do the same thing. But I haven't got a clue what it is, cause I haven't looked at the 1.3 Distro yet. (I'm still 1.2)

What I had to do in the 1.2 version is this:

  open up the admin.cgi file

  do a search for 161.13
That's southwestern IP range. It's not mine. I had to change it to mine, (which is the same as yours incidentally) 192.168

That's all I can remember at this point. But try that.

Later on, when I get better at PERL, I'm going to make a submission, putting that as a variable, and defining it in the variables.pl file.
I'm practicing by rewriting the refresh-dhcpdconf file so that it emails me when the server creates a bad config file. That way I can fix it. :-)

No, it isn't a typo... Our subnet is 255.255.252.0. That gives us the ability to include all the way to 192.168.3.254.

BTW...It seems that netreg likes to give out the last addresses first, like our first client will always get the 3.254 address, and the second will get 3.253 and so on. Wonder why that is.

Also, I have just found out that the lease manager isn't working. When in subnet overview, if I click on a clients lease info, it says it can find "0" matches. I am looking into the admin.cgi yet again. Anybody else having a problem with the lease file in 1.3rc2?

Just checking is that a typo?

      3. Known clients are getting 192.168.0.101-192.168.3.254
      Did you mean 192.168.0.254

We have gotten our Netreg box working great now. I am using the latest version 1.3rc2. Only problem is that "Subnet Overview" is not working quite right. I can find a user my Mac address, by name, and can delete the user just fine. However, the subnet overview shows no users.

One thing that I have found is that for the count graphic, it is calling on meter.jpg. The "normal" reddot.git is commented out. Since I don't have a meter.jpg, I simply commented out that line and uncommented the reddot.gif line. This still didn't work, but at least I don't get an error in my logs saying it can't find meter.gif.

        Here are my details:

        1. Using 192.168.0.2 for server with a 255.255.252 subnet.
        2. Unknown clients are getting 192.168.0.10 - 100
        3. Known clients are getting 192.168.0.101 - 192.168.3.254
        4. Subnet.dat file has: 192.168:Resnet:252

I have tried a few things in admin.cgi to get it to work, but so far it is a no go. Anybody using the latest version got it working?
