I'm trying to understand your question also.

Are you trying to use the NetReg Box to be the router?

Subject: NetReg: Everything Set up fine, but have a question about getting
to the internet

I have set up the Netreg server and it does exactly as promised. The client
machine can access the netreg server, login, and then get a "allowed" IP
address. The only problem is that I haven't figured out how to get the
client connected to the internet after getting the "allowed" IP... Here is
my setup:

1) Netreg box has 2 nics, the resnet nic (internal eth1) is 192.168.0.1
(invalid IP), the external nic (eth0 with valid IP) is 204.196.???.???.

2) For the netreg box itself, I have the Nameserver (in netconf) set to its
own IP. This way I can ping other machines on the 204.x network by IP only.
Everything else is resolved to itself. I have network packet forwarding
enabled, but no default gateway or gateway device set.

3) I have my dhcpd.conf set as follows:
        subnet 192.168.0.0 netmask 255.255.255.0
        option routers 192.168.0.1
        #unknown:
            dns: 192.168.0.1
            range: 192.168.0.50 - .100
        #known:
            dns: 192.168.0.1
            range: 192.168.0.101 - 254

4) Our real DNS server is on 198.137.???.???

I have tried giving the "known" clients the real DNS server IP...but of
course, they can't use it. I have also tried giving the "known" clients the
IP of the netreg box. Still no go.

Please, any suggestions you could offer on our setup would be great.
